You probably already know how to download zip files, but if you're new to this method of file transfer, then you're probably not exactly sure how things work. So in this article, we'll cover some of the basics of downloading and extracting files with a zip archive. There are two ways to download a zip file: by scrolling down until you find the "download" link or by right-clicking on anything inside your browser. To extract any information within the archive, right-click on it and select "Extract Here". You will be able to see all of the files inside without navigating through them one at a time via folder view. What if you want to delete the archive later? It's simple: just move it to the trash before completely extracting it. a. The simplest way to download a zip file is to scroll down until you find the "download" button or just an "x" button in the corner of the screen, depending on whether or not your computer is right-hand or left-hand operating system. Some people may prefer to use their right hand, but others might use their left hand, so choose what makes you comfortable. b. The "x" button will take you directly to a file download page full of all kinds of files, or sometimes other things like PDFs, ZIP files and even images. File formats are usually shown right next to the title of the file for easy browsing. c. The "download" button will consistently take you to a page with all kinds of files, including the ZIP file you want to download. On this page, you can either choose "save as…" or "save" depending on your operating system, or just click on one of the folders that are provided below. d. This is pretty simple if it's an image, because all you have to do is tell the computer what it shall do with that file by holding down shift and selecting "open with. e. The shortcut for right-clicking works with a lot of different types of files, but not other types like ZIP files. In this case, you should use the "download" button below to download your archive, after which you should right-click on it to open it in a text document. f. The third way to do it is by exporting from windows explorer or from windows command prompt. It's very similar to the right-click way, but it's more complicated and requires a lot more computer knowledge. g. I'm pretty sure you guys already know how to do the scroll way, but if you're having problems with that, you can always use Ctrl+F (Command+F for Mac users), which is an easy shortcut for finding things within text files. h. Moving your mouse all the way down to "x" at the bottom of the screen will prevent carpel tunnel syndrome, which many computer users experience after too much time spent on their computers. 8eeb4e9f32 15
